Ibn Taymiyyah said: "The Companions learned from the Messenger the words of the Qur'an and its meanings. In fact, they used to learn the meanings from him, detached from its words, using other words. As said: 'We first learned Iman, then we learned the Qur'an, and our Iman increased.' ✒️ A Mistake in Children's Tarbiyah In many communities, there are children who grow up memorising Qur'an but without learning Iman. This leads to a generation of Huffadh, who are ignorant of the correct Aqidah and the basics of Islam. Jundub (radihaAllāhu anhu) said, "We were with the Prophet as young boys, we learnt Iman before we learnt the Qur'an, then we learnt the Qur'an and we increased by it our Iman." [Ibn Majah]

✒️ Takbīrāt of Dhul Hijjah From Fajr Salah on the Day of Arafah, the Takbīrāt which are said specifically after Salah are said. A person can say any words of Takbir, the most common is what is narrated from Ibn Mas’ud: الله أكبر الله أكبر، لا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر الله أكبر، ولله الحمد"

✒️ Seek Forgiveness on the Day of Arafah. It is a day in which sins are expiated and people are freed from the Fire. The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah.” [Sahih Muslim] This hadith applies to those who are performing hajj, and those who are not.

✒️ Safeguard your limbs on the Day of Arafah. It has been narrated that the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “This Day of ʿArafah is a day in which whoever controls their hearing, sight, and tongue shall be forgiven.” [Collected by Ahmad Ibn Hanbal in az-Zuhd, and others]

✒️ What to say on the Day of Arafah. Abdullah Ibn Umar narrates that the supplication the Prophet would make most frequently on the Day of ʿArafah was: لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد، بيده الخير، وهو على كل شيء قدير "There is no god worthy of worship except Allah alone, without partner. To Him belongs the dominion and all praise. In His Hand is all goodness, and He is over all things fully capable." [Musnad Ahmad]

✒️ Be Between Hope and Fear On the Day of Arafah, be sincere in du'a and istighfar, do not belittle your sins, but know that you are beseeching the One who loves to forgive. وَإِنِّي لَأَدْعُو اللَّهَ أَطْلُبُ عَفْوَهُ ... وَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْفُو وَيَغْفِرُ Indeed, I supplicate to Allah seeking His pardon... and I know that Allah pardons and forgives. لَئِنْ أَعْظَمَ النَّاسُ الذُّنُوبَ فَإِنَّهَا ... وَإِنْ عَظُمَتْ فِي رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ تَصْغُرُ Even if people’s sins become immense, then indeed... however great they may be - they become small within the mercy of Allah.
