In light of all the things we’ve been seeing over these past months and years, I want to say this,
God, the Creator of the universe, who humbled Himself to meet us where we are and love us where we are, wept because He loves us—knowing exactly where we were headed and exactly what we ourselves believe we deserve
The most powerful Being beyond the universe bore the weight of our mistakes—past, present, and future—when all He had to do was think our extinction into existence in an instant. Instead, He chose to suffer as a perfect man on the cross and died so that one day we could go home with Him
He jumped into the fire so you’d never have to
In the world we’re in today, I’d much rather believe there’s Someone who loves me that much… and loves you that much too. Seeing the darkness all around us, I’d much rather believe there’s a love so beautiful, so real and true, that He loves us unconditionally—no matter how much we hate ourselves, no matter our shame, our mistakes, or the lack we so often feel
There is a love so profound that even when the world feels suffocating, cold, isolating, divided, and hateful… He’s right there with you through it all. He loves you so, so much—unconditionally—that He weeps for you. Even when we ignore Him, even when we forget Him, He’s still there
I’d rather believe that exists than not. I’d rather believe that kind of love is real in this world
