Sweeney is highly regarded for his coaching acumen and defensive schemes. I say this because it's 110% certain he knows we have offensive issues and he will build the right staff to address this.

I'll take Sweeney all day long over Billy D. This is a much better move. In fact, I hope the Magic manufactured interest in him just for revenge for 2007, but I'd be giving the FO a bit too much credit.

Don't underestimate playoff experience. By that I mean WINNING experience, not just showing up to round 1. Still think Spurs/OKC is the real NBA Final.

I think ppl assuming ORL would have beaten CLE and marched into the ECF is why this fanbase doesn't get taken seriously. Plus, who cares about making the ECF anyway. The goal should be to build a team that can defeat OKC and SA, and that currently is not close to happening.

The next coach for the Magic will have to scheme around 2 big wings who can't playmake or shoot, an undersized C and no starting caliber PG on the roster. It's not that appealing of a job to anyone who wants to win championships.

I think this was the worst Weltman presser of all time. The constant sniffing, the insistence that this roster is really good and just gets hurt a lot. There is no way anyone competent watched that and thought "yeah, that went well". At full health they would have lost in R2.

I would rather have the Devos family force Dusty May upon us than watch Billy Donovan's 15 year old schemes take us to the 6th seed and maybe the 2nd round at best.

A big challenge with this roster is that Bane/Paolo and Franz constitute 75% of the cap space. I like these guys, but I would be shopping everyone before draft day to see what options are out there.

New HC - #1. I like Chris Quinn, but the Miami Heat have a far superior Front Office and scouting team than ORL.#2 Tiago Splitter if available or Terry Stotts. It would be an absolute failure to get Doc or BillyD, which is what I expect Weltman will do.

The rumor I got was correct - Weltman staying just signifies the further enshittification of this team and this franchise. Alex Martins is behind this - he will say he is not, but as usual he is lying.

I've hated Weltman going on 6 years now. He is incompetent and has tortured this fan base with his concept of slow growth and internal development. He says that while he rakes in WAY too much money a year. Another terrible hire by Alex Martins, who is also completely useless.

Just fire Mosely and Weltman now. No need to wait until after Game 7, this is a historic failure and collapse. The entire organization has failed the city once again.

Not surprised by this loss. I will actually be surprised if we beat Charlotte. In a sane world, that would be enough to justify getting rid of Weltman, but the Magic ownership has no real idea of WTF they are doing.

If the rumor of Weltman getting an extension is true, then that is all you need to know about how the Orlando Magic view their fanbase and winning in general. Still just a rumor at this stage, but Weltman is not capable enough revamp this team in the offseason.

Bad news - the entire team also currently sucks at basketball.

Before we drafted Paolo I said that he needs a specific build around him because he is an old school iso guy. Not a great 3 point shooter or defender, but still a specimen. Magic have to be able to play 4 out when he is on the court and thats not happening enough.

Mosley of course has a hot seat. The concerns I have are the players do not have defined roles. The offensive scheme is incoherent. And they are losing to bad teams. If you can get a Mike Malone or Stotts here, I think you have to pull the trigger sooner than later.
