Graham's long-time collaborator Steve Thompson recorded Father Me with his daughters, Esther Thompson and Velisha Lynch, during the COVID lockdowns.
With thanks to Beracahmusic Ministries.
Father me, forever you’ll father me
And in your embrace I’ll be forever secure
I love the way you father me

Psalm 68 calls God a father to the fatherless. That phrase opens a wide door.
Graham wrote 'Father Me (O, Father of the Fatherless)' in a season when God was pressing this truth home.

Psalm one is a clue to the whole book of Psalms, that they are a way of getting our roots into the living water, which is the word of God and the spirit of God. I love the promise that those who are like this tree, with their roots in the stream, will bear fruit in every season.
Like A Tree grew straight out of Psalm 1, and it's a reminder that when our roots go deep into God’s word and Spirit, we can bear fruit in every season. It’s become one of those songs people seem to pick up and sing almost immediately.

Some journeys take 40 years. Some battles are longer than we ever expected. Some mountains look impossible.
'Give Me This Mountain' is a declaration rooted in the story of Caleb: wholehearted, unshaken, refusing to quit.

'The Bible is really a book of stories of how people encounter God and what they learnt about God through those encounters.'

Caleb waited 40 years. Wandered the wilderness for others. Entered the promise in old age.
And he did it all wholehearted.
Graham Kendrick's 'Give Me This Mountain' is built around that story, and that challenge.

O spread Your wings of mercy over me
And guard my heart with true humility
No shadow of the darkness pressing in
Only the holy overshadowing
Underneath Your wings, overshadowing.
