Class size matters because relationships matter. If classes are large, teachers can NOT:
- Get to know their students
- Know students individual needs
- Know students emotional needs
- Know students academic needs
- Give students the individual attention that they need

When I was a classroom teacher I made my Ss memorize & list all 50 states & 42/43, at the time, presidents in 5 minutes or less.
I thought this was a great task, back then.
Today, I can't do this.
Today,none of them need to do this.
All I did was create unnecessary anxiety.

Scholastic Book Fair suggestion:
Give your kid's teacher $10 to discreetly give to a few kids who don't receive money from home to buy a book. I've seen kids at the book fairs who wish they could buy a book, but can't.

If teachers are required to turn in minutely detailed lessons plans, follow a script, or follow a curriculum or textbook without deviation this is in fact micromanaging. This needs to stop.
