The young lady I talked with today, whose boyfriend died -- I was the person who had to break the news to her that her boyfriend was the one who was killed with the pitchfork. She hadn't been told that detail, I guess to spare her because it's so gruesome. heraldnews.com/story/news/20…

I sat with her on a bench outside the courtroom & talked with her a few minutes. She's young enough to be my daughter & has braces on her teeth. She told me she knew her boyfriend was dead, but she wasn't sure if he was the one who had been killed that way and wanted to know.

When I told her he was, she dropped her head a little & cried some more. I'm seeing a lot of nasty comments today. Never forget: the people in these stories are not there for your amusement / ridicule. They are your neighbors & human beings who've had the worst day of their lives

that a book was written/pub'd in serialized installments before being collected in a full edition alone does not make it "slop." Slop means something was mechanically slapped together from cast-off fragments of pirated content w/o regard to quality -- not how it is distributed
