Introducing Arcs in Motion 12.40.
Arcs animate elements along curved paths. These aren't static like offset-path, they're dynamic and work with both x/y and layout animations.
They're easy to tweak too, thanks to strength, peak, and auto-rotate options!

Tbh I don't know how. Design engineering is for the most part still a human eye problem. you're checking if something feels right, not if it passes a test.

PSA - If you're thinking about enabling React compiler and you're using motion/react - Your layout animations will break!
Make sure to disable React compiler on those components with "use no memo";
