Two things from the last 7 days 1. The number of friends and colleagues who have reached out / checked in to ask if I’m ok has been amazing and very moving - thank you ❤️ 2. The number of times I’ve ended my message to family with “stay safe” 😢 We need to make civilised dialogue , warm everyday encounters, a genuine desire to create understanding and disagreeing respectfully the norm and find ways to end clickbait, disinformation and shock jock “journalism”

Sir, Over the last few days we have watched in horror as a small minority has brought hatred, violence and vandalism to towns and cities across the country. We have seen anti-Muslim hatred and the targeting of mosques; asylum seekers and refugees attacked; violence directed towards the police and private property, all of which are a stain on our national moral conscience. Every British citizen has a right to be respected and a responsibility to respect others, so that together we can build a cohesive and harmonious society for all. As faith leaders, we salute the many people who have stepped forward to repair damage and restore their neighbourhoods. We pledge to work with government and all sections of society towards a constructive and compassionate dialogue on immigration and social cohesion. I’m appalled at the hatred poured out against Muslim communities and at asylum seekers. As Jews we know what it feels like to be hated for who we are. We stand in solidarity with all the victims of this racist violence. #HopeNotHate

I have read Meditations by Marcus Aurelius more than 6 times. But these are the 17 lessons of his that gave me chills. Read them carefully ↓

Wonderful maiden speech by Sarah Sackman, MP, in which she celebrates the people of Finchley and Golders Green.
I was honoured to make my maiden speech at the King’s speech debate today. The people of Finchley and Golders Green, both past and present, deserve their time in the spotlight - I was honoured to be able to do that in my speech.

I love this reminder of the democracy in which we live. ❤️
To be sworn in as an MP, you have to make an oath to the King. This is what I decided to say, in protest.
