As a former manicurist, I'm confused by this viral "Russian Manicure" trend with an extra charge. I looked it up- It's just a regular old dry manicure, which is actually something we did when we were in a hurry. Why is it viral and why is it called that now? It's just a manicure.

So... Besides the fucked up accusations of immigrants eating cats and dogs being thrown around in the US, I'm hearing commentators and pundits also adding ducks and geese like it's so also shocking. Last I checked, duck and geese were not only delicious, but really good eats.

I wish people wouldn't favorably compare my work to the works I really dislike. When folks admiringly say that I must have been inspired by said filmmaker's works, I physically want to vomit. I guess anything quiet and South East Asian gets compared to that though.

I literally just had to Google what the Mediterranean Diet was because all kinds of people in the US are raving about it. I lived in Italy, my first foray into cooking for myself as an independent human was Italian food. The results made me head tilt somewhat.

Sometimes, I see posts in pet groups about people I've never met and will never meet losing their best buddies and I tear up just thinking about their devastating loss. Animals are the best, even ones that are kind of jerks like Pickle.

Why are Americans always moaning about gas prices? They're one of the populations with the cheapest gas to begin with, and they pay by the gallon not by the litre like almost everyone else. Jeez.

I sometimes post videos about foods I make or eat that might not be familiar to my 8 & 10 yr old nieces in the US. The other day, a friend dropped by without notice to ask for mangos from my tree after he saw one of those videos. Did Pickle & I just legitimately "influence"? 😹

Hey, when I search for "chewy chocolate chip cookies with crisp edges", I think it's oxymoronic for the recipe poster to have "ooey gooey center" as a description. 🤢 Ooey gooey is NOT chewy dammit. If I wanted that, I'd search "raw in the middle" not fucking chewy.

There are certain things that seem very normal to my family, for instance, having prop skeletal remains collecting authentic dust and cobwebs near my front door. It isn't until a friend who comes over for lunch posts it on her FB that I realize that sort of thing isn't normal.
