We keep banging on this drum about the importance of sound theology in our church gatherings, but too often it falls on deaf ears.
People brush it off with the usual excuses:
“It’s just being academic.”
“Where are the ‘results’?”
“It doesn’t put food on the table.”
“It’s the letter and not the Spirit.”
But when someone close and dear to you deconstructs from the faith or starts saying Christianity is incoherent or just a control tool; perhaps then you’ll take it seriously.
Perhaps then we’ll have far less tolerance for churches with no theology… and far less patience for the peddlers of false or feel-good teachings. Sound doctrine isn’t optional. It’s the anchor that keeps faith from shipwreck.
