As org designer, you want to 1️⃣ maximize delighting intrinsic motivators while still being feasible for the company. 2️⃣ fulfill baseline expectations about extrinsic motivators to the necessary minimum so they don’t demotivate.

Another aspect we can transfer from the original model is that delighters eventually degrade to baseline expectations. For instance, while being allowed to work from home occasionally was still a delighter a few years ago, it is now a baseline expectation for many people.

And of course: practice, a lot. I now enjoy visualizing concepts even more than putting them into words. And that says a lot. 😊
