UKGs steel tariffs position has already been very damaging seeing parts of the supply chain being off-shored. Word from one local engineering firm on this speculation-“Unfortunate thing is its already too late for a portion of our spend but hopefully will help with the remaining”
Exclusive: Ministers are preparing a partial u-turn on the steel tariffs regime announced by the government in March, after industry feedback warned that the new import measures would impose crippling cost increases on car and aerospace manufacturers. news.sky.com/story/mark-klei…

🚨BREAKING: Joint statement from Northern Ireland’s political party leaders following north Belfast attempted murder. "As leaders of Northern Ireland’s main political parties, we are united in our condemnation of the horrific incident in North Belfast last night. "There is no place in our society for this kind of brutality. Our immediate thoughts are with the victim and his family, and we hope he makes a full and complete recovery. "Our thoughts are also with those eyewitnesses to the incident, as well as those brave members of the public who intervened. "We recognise the distress and fear this incident will cause within the local community. We urge people not to share the deeply disturbing images or videos, as their graphic nature would only serve to retraumatise those involved. "We support the Police Service of Northern Ireland in their ongoing investigation and urge anyone with information, or relevant footage, to assist them. It is essential that the facts are established through proper investigation and due process. "We are committed to ensuring that violence and hatred in any form will not be allowed to divide our communities. We call for calm and for space to allow justice to take its course." @sinnfeinireland @duponline @allianceparty @uuponline @SDLPlive

What has Aston Martin and Lisburn got in common? On Friday I visited this fantastic local company, Creative Composites. Employing over 220 people and based in Lisburn, they are supplying excellence in composite products for some of the world’s biggest brands such as Caterpillar and JCB. The quality of this company is demonstrated by their client list - including high-end, luxury companies such as Aston Martin and McLaren. So next time you see a beautiful Aston Martin, know that it was likely partly made including eternal, finished parts right here in Lisburn! It was great to engage directly with the team and I look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow in the time ahead! 🚀

The proportion of Good Jobs is growing. Regional imbalances are narrowing. Productivity is increasing. And all-Ireland trade is thriving. That success is based on the ambition and the talent of our businesses.”
