I wish America had the culture Japan does
Jun 14
The match ended in a draw. The Netherlands fans celebrated and went home. But the Japan fans stayed behind. With smiles on their faces and bags in their hands, they cleaned the entire stadium after the game against the Netherlands. They have done it for years. Not because anyone asked them to. But because respect, discipline and gratitude are part of who they are. A small act that continues to inspire the football world. 🇯🇵❤️

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 53 YEARS, THE KNICKS ARE NBA CHAMPIONS 🏆 New York defeats San Antonio 4-1 in the NBA Finals, capturing their third championship in franchise history!

Fox has to run the ball out and get fouled… Among a few other mistakes 😂

Agreed, the Knicks and Thunder need to be boxing out and meeting those guys at the 3-point line. Trying to box out while waiting for them under the basket is a bad idea.
I’m starting to think that this is coached.. it happens too often.

Since the NBA season is winding down and basketball is coming to an end… Why doesn’t ESPN or somebody replay all of MJ’s games starting with the earliest one we have of him Play one every other night until the season starts up again - let’s check the tape for real

This is no different for hoops. No matter what your role is, be great, it will change the trajectory of your career!
🚀 The only career advice you need: The actor Glen Powell auditioned to play Rooster in Top Gun: Maverick. When the role was given to Miles Teller, Powell was devastated. He was offered a smaller role, but declined. Tom Cruise summoned Powell to his house and asked him: “What kind of career do you want?” Powell responded: “I want to be like you—an iconic movie star. You always choose great roles.” Cruise shook his head. “You’re wrong. I choose great movies, then I make the role great.” Powell got the message. He accepted the role of Hangman—and nailed it. Now Powell says: “It changed the trajectory of my career.” When young people ask me for career advice, I tell them something similar: 🚀 Attach yourself to a rocketship. Join companies that are growing quickly. Work with people who are going places. Be part of something great. Play your role—no matter how minor—exceptionally well. The rest will take care of itself. P.S. I don't write engagement bait, so I need your help to spread the word. If you enjoyed this post, would you like, comment, and repost?

The hero we needed
Victor Wembanyama’s agent says he refuses to do endorsement deals with soda companies "They all want him, but Victor will never sell soda. Because he doesn’t want to kill the kids." (Via @JaredWeissNBA / h/t @TheNBABase )

No rhythm, late gather, different ball path, needs work to say the least but it’s probably more amazing she’s in the WNBA and no one has helped her

No wondering John Stockton had 15k assists buddy is standing there throwing it where ever he pleases. It looks like on-ball pressure defense didn’t even exist

The point was to get your shot off, not draw foul. Maybe they should change the rule to a side out of bounds on a “drawn foul” (including in the bonus) so there’s no more free throws.
Pump fakes used to be used for space creation man. This Kobe vs SGA comp perfectly sums it up!

I’ll never forget yelling “make him shoot,” as he was already killing us, just for him to hit the jumper too 😂
Surreal being at Pro Day yesterday. What a journey. Literally shedded a tear man. Anyway this is the beginning of 24 straight 3pt makes for ⁦@BraydenBurries⁩ yesterday. Best guard in the draft imo but they’ll say I’m biased of course lol.

Hard to believe a player is the MVP while getting benched during crunch time for defense

Does anybody else watch these PreDraft Shooting videos and think that it’s a bunch of jogging around shooting slow jumpers?
Arkansas’ Billy Richmond III just shot 17/25 on the 3-point star drill. He’s now tied for sixth so far for the NBA Combine. The leader, Kingston Flemings, shot 19/25. This comes after he tied Darius Acuff Jr. for first in the 3/4 court sprint at 3.06 seconds and finished first in the pro lane drill at 10.23 seconds (0.23 seconds faster than second place).

He should have a chance with that frame & pace of play at the PG spot
Illinois' Keaton Wagler measured 6'5 barefoot and 188 pounds at the NBA Draft Combine, with a 6'6.25 wingspan and 8'4 standing reach. First measurements we've seen for Wagler. Good size for a PG, but is functionally a little smaller given the wingspan, frame, and reach.

It’s why kids “burnout” - the game is about everything except the actual game these days There’s not an area / space where kids just show up and love the game / play for fun - it’s all a means to an end
My take: today’s athletes are constantly preached to about how basketball is more than a game, that it’s about enjoying it, the relationships, the experiences, the lessons learned along the way and on… But the only thing anybody actually cares about is winning

Room temperature take: today’s young athlete plays so many games that they rarely care much about losing anymore.
