SBI Update $USDC payments in Japan

@sbigroup announced their new partnership with @Circle to provide access to $USDC Stablecoin & SBI Shinsei Bank will provide banking services to Circle. This will enable access to liquidity for Japan-based businesses and users--and in that same announcement, @sbivc_official is seeking registration as an electronic payment instruments service, which is subject to approval by the authorities. One of the use cases is with the programmable wallet planned to be used at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, handling USDC. On Jan 1 2025, President of SBIVC Trade Kondo san was quoted in the CoinDesk article (see link below), "Demand for international remittances using USDC will likely become strong from both individuals and corporations in Japan as well," adding, "Inbound tourists will be able to use it for shopping, and domestic consumers will be able to use it to pay for purchases through cross-border e-commerce services and the like. Another use case we can think of is as a payment method that can be used in games."
