On this day 28th November in 1893 Women over 21 in New Zealand voted for the first time. This photograph which was given to me recently shows Hamilton Court House on a polling day in possibly 1908 or 1910.

We've digitised the despatches of British Resident James Busby c.1830s. As well as correspondence there are maps of Tauranga and Kaipara harbours, a list of principal Māori rangatira, and a national census of Europeans taken in 1836. View it online here: tiaki.natlib.govt.nz/#detail…
