Congrats to @MarkGroden and the entire @skyryse team. @EmbeddedVC invested twice in 2021 after spending time with the team. There have been many companies that have come, and many now gone with more joining them, proposing that the only way aviation would move forward is through EVOTLs. EVOTLs, a word made up to make them seem more distinct than "electric helicopter", are very silly! They require solving miracles on every system at once: flight weight high performance batteries, electric motors, global charging infrastructure, and more, all at the same time, in a highly regulated environment. Mark had the straightforward approach of upgrading current rotorcraft design with modern controls, software, and autonomy before expanding the product offering into an even more straightforward application to fixed wing craft. Happy to see that playing out as planned.
Status: Unicorn. 🦄 Today we’re announcing our $300M Series C raise, accelerating our path to certification and scaling our universal operating system for flight across helicopters and airplanes. This round was led by Autopilot Ventures (@HQAutopilot) and returning investor Fidelity Management & Research Company, with participation from new and returning investors ArrowMark Partners, Atreides Management LP (@Atreidesmgmt), @BAMelevate, @BaronCapital Group, Inc., Durable Capital Partners, Positive Sum, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), RCM Private Markets Fund managed by Rokos Capital Management (US) LP, Woodline Partners, among others. Surpassing $1B in valuation as a privately-held company, is a big milestone for us and a history-making moment for the industry. To date, we’re the only aviation technology company to reach this milestone while maintaining our independence and offering a technology for dual-use in defense and civilian markets. We’re especially proud of what this capital unlocks for safe, simple flight for everyone. Learn more in @TechCrunch here: techcrunch.com/2026/02/03/sk…

We just raised $300M in Series C! Helicopters and small planes are vastly less safe than large commercial aircraft. @Skyryse is bringing the safety of commercial aviation and the simplicity of driving an EV to the world of general aviation and military aviation. Several months ago, I joined the advisory board of Skyryse because I was super impressed by the management team and the scale of its mission. We set out to raise $150M Series C. Today, we announced the closing of an oversubscribed and upsized round of over $300M at $1.15B valuation, with a cap table that I'm very proud of. I can't wait to see Skyryse's 21st-century tech transform the aviation industry. techcrunch.com/2026/02/03/sk…

"If you can offer a technology that makes it easier and safer to fly, then six out of seven aspiring pilots will [actually finish training]. I believe in a future where people should get their pilot's license at the same time they get their driver’s license." We spoke with @MarkGroden of @skyryse about how his team is automating general aviation with SkyOS, the world’s first operating system for flight. Read it here: infinitefrontiers.io/convers…

As part of our path to certification, we’ve been collaborating closely with the FAA and are proud to share that we recently hosted FAA Deputy Administrator @FAA_Chris onsite to see Skyryse One™ and our Black Hawk with SkyOS™. The Deputy Administrator and the entire @FAANews team, conveyed their commitment and support of our mission at Skyryse. We are grateful for their support and looking forward to completing SkyOS certification to bring a new level of safety to flying as we work to reduce general aviation accidents and fatalities.

Take a peek into what it’s like to fly with Skylar™, our AI flight assistant integrated into SkyOS™. From listening to and interpreting ATC, to tracking aircraft in crowded airspace, to monitoring weather and optimizing routes, Skylar acts as a true assistant in the cockpit. Deterministic expert AI systems – like SkyOS – are designed for predictability and consistency, generating the same output for the same input, every single time. As a LLM layered on top of SkyOS, Skylar leverages AI as an orchestrator of trusted data and systems, improving reliability, safety, and empowering pilot decision-making. As it’s deployed across diverse missions, including military, emergency medical services, and civilian operations, Skylar continually learns and improves, refining its capabilities with every flight. I’ve been passionate about technology and flying machines all my life, and AI is a powerful tool, but human oversight is essential to achieving the safest outcomes in flight. That’s why we created Skylar™, a universal AI flight assistant designed to improve flight safety and reduce pilot workload. The future of aviation centers on human-machine interface solutions – technology that blends the best of human decision-making with automation to make flying simpler and safer. From setting mission objectives to assessing real-time risks, human involvement in decision-making is critical. 👇Here’s our point of view on AI at @skyryse skyryse.com/resources/skynet…
