The CoP have been conspicuous by their silence. The CEO also used to be the CC of Hants. That quango has done almost as much damage to policing as Theresa May did as HS.

I see Norman is supporting the arresting officer. This is the second high-profile case he's got on the wrong side of. He could do with employing some critical thinking skills before he really undoes himself.

The BWV of Henry #Nowak is as disturbing as it is distressing. When he tells the arresting officer he's been stabbed, the AO replies "I don't think you have mate" as he cuffs him in a rear stack. I'm sorry but someone absolutely needs to go to jail for this misconduct.

Much like looking at an idiot who's been successful in the police promotion system. Your first thought is how the f*ck did that get up there?
Shocked onlookers captured the incredible aftermath of a road accident that left a motorcycle hanging off a traffic light south of Vancouver. The rider was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

You've got to wonder how much of this would have been prevented if we hadn't seen such huge cuts in policing and still had beat officers who knew the businesses on their patch. Those cuts are still having consequences... bbc.com/news/articles/c23ev9…

Oh for fuck sake. 60% of the population voted for Brexit and look where we are now. Capitol Punishment achieves nothing and doesn't provide a deterrent. You only have to look at the USA for proof. The stupidity is real....
When I raised the question on the death penalty in Parliament yesterday, it was met with pure horror from hundreds of MPs. So, Restore Britain commissioned national polling to find out what the British people actually think… 60% of the British people would vote in favour of restoring the death penalty, 40% against. The entire UK would vote in favour, other than London. It is overwhelmingly popular. 41% of people believe we should have the referendum, 34% disagree. This is a debate the British people want to have, even if almost nobody in Parliament does. We look at these monstrous child rapist and killers sitting in prison, costing us tens of thousands every year - for what? To assault and injure prison staff? No. When the guilt is undeniable, and the crime so appalling - we should put them to death. I have no moral questions about that, whatsoever. Axel Rudakubana Lee Rigby's killers - Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale Manchester Arena terrorist - Hashem Abedi And many others... Why keep these monsters alive? We must restore the death penalty. The British people agree with me, even if almost nobody in Parliament does.

Its interesting to note that, in dismantling the office of PCC, the Home Office still doesn't want to appear responsible for the oversight and funding of policing and have instead dumped accountability on local authorities...

Some of the responses here are really disappointing - especially from those purporting to be in the job. Are we forgetting that there are officers who are still giving their best despite having PTSD caused by the things they've seen? Who the fuck are these people to judge them?
A police training video with actors had trigger warnings to warn recruits incase they found it upsetting. If you can’t handle a video in a classroom, best stay off the streets.

Gutted for the GMP firearms officers who must be feeling absolutely wretched today. I hope they are being fully supported The road ahead for them is going to be a tough one - as it will be for the families of those killed and injured.

A few things caused me to take sharp intakes of breath last night while watching Panorama. One of them was the apparent involvement in investigations by custody sergeants who were apparently making bail decisions based on their own threshold test of a successful prosecution. πŸ€”

Clearly this is contrary to PACE and makes me wonder how many cases have been adversely affected by such perverse decisions.

Man Jailed For Eight Years After Brutal Attack Left Female Officer With Brain Injury A man from Sidcup has been jailed for eight years after he subjected two female police officers to a brutal attack, leaving one with a serious brain injury. Mark Weatherley, 43, was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court after admitting two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The court heard that the two officers attended his address in Sidcup, southeast London, following a report that he had assaulted his mother. Upon their arrival, Weatherley became aggressive, calling the officers β€˜scum’ and β€˜fcking slgs,’ while shouting, β€˜I hate you with a passion, I hate the lot of you’. When the officers attempted to calm him down, he punched both of them in the face. He then continued to kick and punch them as they lay on the floor, leaving both unconscious. One of the officers sustained a traumatic brain injury as a result of the assault. Following his arrest, Weatherley remained so violent that police were unable to take a custody photograph. The only image they could release was a still taken from the body worn camera of one of the officers he attacked. While in custody, he commented, β€˜I think I killed her; I think I snapped that girls’ neck when I punched her. That c–t. That’ll teach her for coming in my house without a search warrant and not leaving when I asked her to.’ He also added, β€˜They could have been two geezers, and I would have f*cking killed them. The only reason I didn’t stamp on them was because they were women.’ The court was told Weatherley has previous convictions for racially aggravated common assault, assaulting emergency workers, and malicious communications. In a victim impact statement, one officer said she was left β€˜traumatised’, continues to suffer from pain in her head, experiences pain when eating, and might never be able to return to work. Her colleague stated she now suffers from constant panic attacks and insomnia and is undergoing therapy. In his sentencing remarks, Judge Christopher Grout told Weatherley, β€˜These two officers had attended your property that day in order to help a member of the public, your mother, who they believed needed assistance. As a result of trying to help someone they were subjected to the most brutal of attacks. You repeatedly punched and kicked the officers, returning to each of them to continue with the assaults. There are, at present, undoubtedly psychological conditions that are continuing to affect the officers, neither of whom have yet returned to work.’ The judge added, β€˜True it is that you said some truly appalling things to the officers, and about the police more generally, but this was not an attack which can properly be said to have been one borne out of revenge. What prompted the attack was your misguided belief that you had done nothing wrong and that the officers had no right to be at your address coupled with the officers’ attempt to arrest you.’ Judge Grout described Weatherley as a β€˜significant risk to members of the public’ as he sentenced him to eight years in prison. Weatherley will be required to spend an additional four years on licence upon his release. What are your thoughts on the sentencing for assaults committed against emergency service workers? unconscious by their assailant. Apparently, this BWV is so harrowing that they have both been strongly advised not to be present in the court room when it is shown. Yet there has been nothing in the media about the incident?
