My daughter Ani drew this when she was 11. Zoom in on it if you can. She has a unique mosaic style of drawing. Hundreds of little splotches work together to form the picture. Notice the subtle differences in shades that are barely noticeable unless you get up close, then pull back and see how they create depth and texture and lighting. I may be biased, but I think it's pretty remarkable for a kid her age.

Today is National Appreciate a Dragon Day, so I want you all to appreciate this dragon I drew a few years back that was retweeted by the official Eric Carle Museum account, which is honestly and truly one of the highlights of my very short-lived artistic career.

My 12 year old just finished this drawing for her grandpa in Oceanside, who loves sea turtles. Annika is on the spectrum and has a very unique style of drawing: she imports a photo into Procreate on her iPad, then adds a blank layer on top of it. She then spends countless hours finding every minor shift of color she can, then draws a tiny splotch with it. Thousands of these little splotches come together to create a beautiful mosaic. It's all done on a single layer. I have a hunch Grandpa's gonna love it.

I'm still obsessed with my 11 year old daughter's drawing style. She just drew this bird statue that's sitting on her desk.

Someone just hacked my @ markspuddle account on Instagram. They deleted all of my #KidLitArt; wiped my profile clean. They changed the password and the device it authenticates to so I seemingly have no way to recover it. Anyone know how I can get it back?

This one is written under my Mark Spuddle pen name but I posted the pitch from my main account because I have significantly more followers over there.

This one is about telling your story from unique POVs and perspectives, like having MCs that are anthropomorphic animals or food or even a house.
