Steven Spielberg is one of the greatest filmmakers who ever lived, but how did the man who made dinosaurs look real in 1993 give us a deer in 2026 that looks fake? #DisclosureDay

I used to think J.J. Abrams' STAR TREK (2009) held the all-time record for lens flares. Then I saw Steven Spielberg's DISCLOSURE DAY.

Turns out the secret to a hit movie isn’t spending $250 million or hiring the most expensive stars in Hollywood. It’s making something people genuinely want to see.
OBSESSION is back at the #1 spot in America, surpassing SCARY MOVIE this Monday. This is unprecedented, this century, for a movie heading into its fifth week in peak summer (June/July).

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE isn’t terrible, but my biggest issue is that it keeps joking about how stupid it is. I don’t want He-Man with an apology attached. I want the sincerity of the original cartoon: a fantasy world that actually believes in itself.

Honestly, 20% on Rotten Tomatoes feels perfectly on brand for the SCARY MOVIE franchise. If it somehow got an 85%, I'd be worried it had betrayed its own legacy.

At least it did better than the last one.

Kane Parsons is officially the youngest director ever to have a #1 film at the domestic box office in its opening weekend. He is only 20 years old.

BACKROOMS understands a fundamental truth of horror: the unknown is always scarier than the explanation. It forgets that rule by the end, but not before delivering one hell of a nightmare. My review: fastfilmreviews.com/2026/05/…

This BACKROOMS poster by @noctrnlayouts (Alessandro Montalto) is better than any of the official movie posters. Consider me a fan.

Despite its anti-capitalist worldview, I LOVE BOOSTERS absolutely sells the joke.  And I'm buying…even if Boots Riley would prefer I steal it.

OBSESSION already knocked The Mandalorian and Grogu out of the #1 spot, and honestly? Good. Original movies beating recycled IP is the kind of plot twist Hollywood needs more of.
‘OBSESSION’ surpassed ‘THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU’ on Wednesday at the box office, retaking the #1 spot domestically.

THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU doesn't have the substance of the latest Star Wars movie. It's more like the background entertainment you'd see as you're waiting in line for the newly updated "Millennium Falcon" ride at Disneyland. My review: fastfilmreviews.com/2026/05/…

"The Stars of Star Wars" episode of The Muppet Show is one of the very best of that series. THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU feels like an update, only with Sigourney Weaver and Pedro Pascal as the guest stars.
‘THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU’ debuts at 58% on Rotten Tomatoes. • First Star Wars movie in 7 years. Read our review: bit.ly/MandoDF

THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU isn’t a terrible movie. Grogu’s cuteness can carry a 90-minute adventure. Unfortunately, the movie is 132 minutes.

OBSESSION may not have me obsessed, but it absolutely held my attention. Director Curry Barker announces himself with a nifty horror film that is both macabre and very funny. My review: fastfilmreviews.com/2026/05/…
