Great seminar yesterday by Julia Frunzke @FrunzkeLab !
It was preceded by a lunch on top of @ETH, and followed by a fun dinner with members of the @MartinLoessner and @AHarms485 labs😃 Thanks for taking the long train ride from Jülich to Zurich, Julia ! 😇
📢 Historic day for Portugal and phage therapy! 🇵🇹 A framework was approved, allowing magistral preparation of personalized phage products. 🙌 Grateful to Jean-Paul Pirnay, my group @AzeredoLab Portuguese patients, and doctors who signed a petition inspired by the Belgium model.
Amazing study - this is what we need to have a realistic idea of the power of phage therapy- and it will get even more effective using upgraded, engineered phages ! 😇
Fantastic work from Léa Zinsli - and it was only the "side project" of her PhD research project ! Stay tuned for the real thing, it it all about modifying #immunogenicity of #endolysins for human therapeutic application !
Happy to share part of my #PhD work!🥳 The preprint is on the interaction between two endolysin isoforms encoded by a single gene.🧬 Learn more about endolysin Ply2638A encoded by the staphylococcal phage ϕ2638A: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
Lucky for the visit of Professor @MartinLoessner to the #EnBiVirLab! Engaging discussions on scientific and non-scientific topics, topped off with an enlightening talk at the University of Valencia's @MasterVirologia's program 🥰💪

After a intense but great first day at the annual meeting of the Swiss Society for Microbiology, the PhDs of the Laboratory for Food Microbiology of @MartinLoessner@ETH_en will enjoy the great views from the @olympicmuseum. @3llenaleksandra @cmagripp_uic @LeaZinsli
@phagemuffin Enea Maffei is at @EvergreenPhage to present his fantastic PhD work from the @AHarms485 lab on Phage Paride which can kill dormant Pseudomonas cells ! 👍👍👍
