Barrister KC, who happens to cycle (quite a lot). Enjoys fighting for the cause of cycling and individual cyclists. Joint Head of Chambers at 2 Temple Gardens.
Pathetic.
* It's the POSSIBILITY of a life sentence, not in all cases.
* As the replies note, in almost all cases the other road user is a DRIVER or motorcyclist. How often do they get (a) charged
(b) anything more than a - generally short - ban if proved guilty?
* Cyclists

At long last we have a law for dangerous cyclists and e-bikes. Those who cycle or ride e-bikes recklessly causing fatal accidents to pedestrians or road users can now feel the full force of the law. Matt Briggs and others who have campaigned for justice should be congratulated for their perseverance.

It is with sadness that we learnt today of the death of our colleague, Lord Clarke of Stone-cum-Ebony. Lord Clarke was a Justice of the UKSC from its opening in 2009 until 2017. He was an excellent colleague & the kindest of men. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
Yet again, I had to stop cycling due to a loose dog in the middle of the road. I told the owner she was selfish, she got mad. I don't know why it's so hard to ensure your dog isn't in the middle of the cycle path.
IME out of control dogs in places, even roads, shared by cyclists is an increasing problem. A family member suffered significant injury in this way - just received 5 fig compensation from dog owner. That should be some kind of lesson. Yours a responsible dog lover and owner.
FYI - this guy is a total asshole. Please let him know if you see him. He was walking 2 dogs on Kelvin path and one ran at my 9 year old on her bike and knocked her off. He didn't care then screamed fuck you at her when I asked if he could please control his dogs.
A court ruling has upheld the publicās right to submit dashcam and helmet-cam footage to police, after a retired solicitor attempted to sue a cyclist who filmed her using a mobile phone while driving.
