I’ve written to the Prime Minister demanding urgent transparency on the Hillsborough Law. Govt says it won’t share details with families this week to “avoid politicising” the 37th anniversary on Weds - yet is apparently happy to brief the media. Families should NEVER learn of key developments in legislation named after their loved ones in this way. After all they’ve endured, this lack of candour is unacceptable. We all need answers. While almost four decades have passed since the tragedy occurred, the players and myself are fully aware that so many people – bereaved families, survivors, Liverpool supporters in general and many others besides – continue to be affected by the terrible events of that day. "Since becoming head coach, I have been able to hear some of their stories and the passage of time does not make them any less moving. I have also been told about the campaign for a Hillsborough Law and having listened to the reasons and knowing the story behind them, it surprises me that this is still to be introduced. "This is not an opinion based on my association with Liverpool FC either. It is the view of someone who believes bereaved families should not have to fight and campaign for the truth about how their loved ones lost their lives; it should be provided as a matter of course." Bereaved Families and Survivors of some of Britain's biggest disasters, injustice and families facing individual state related deaths have today written to the Prime Minister and Cabinet regarding the Hillsborough Law and the "insult" felt by the continued delays.

Hello @wesstreeting Do you remember Hannah? Yesterday was one of the hardest days as we said goodbye to the most remarkable, formidable and beautiful soul. She was just 39 years old and leaves behind a 5 year old daughter. Hannah spent her final years living with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Even while gravely ill, she campaigned tirelessly for access to #Enhertu and met you to eloquently and respectfully ask for your help. You had, and still have, the power to stop this from happening. Tragically, it is now too late for Hannah and her family. But please do not let her death be in vain. Act now so other women do not die prematurely from this cruel, relentless disease. Secondary breast cancer is the leading cause of death of women aged 35–64 in the UK, that’s 31 women a day. These are mothers, daughters, partners, beloved friends and contributors to society, people with full lives still to live. Please do something.
