It takes an almost impossible level of audacity and resilience to build anything in South Africa, whether it’s a startup, a small business, or a social enterprise. Don’t stop. This country needs what you’re building.

Wemby was asked who he has in the Champions League Final: "Aww come on. PSG of course. At least PSG gonna make it somewhat fun...Because I know Arsenal ain't" 😂😂

The FIFA hydration break is pure capitalism.

The game has never been more gone.
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: During Mexico vs South Africa, the referee had to keep the players waiting during the cooling break because FOX was still on a commercial break. The match eventually resumed while FOX was still showing advertisements. These cooling breaks are not related to player health, but are instead used to accommodate commercials. — @Romain_Molina

.about to run Startup Pitch Training during lunchtime with 30 founders, and it's yet another reminder that there's not shortage entrepreneurial talent in SA - only the risk appetite, b@lls, and knowledge to back them up with markets and growth capital. 💪🏿

And move your body. Walks are good, running is great, climbing mountains is best.

Gents.. prioritize your mental health! Speak up, take up a hobby, go to therapy, surround yourself with positive like minded people, don’t be afraid to be alone, reduce your alcohol intake and try to eat well. It’s the little things that build up and make an impact! 🙏🏿

If you jump ship at the first sign of disappointment, football probably isn’t for you. It’s been 16 years since South Africa last played at a World Cup. Maybe it takes a difficult game to remind us where we are, how far we’ve come, and what still needs to be done. We go again @BafanaBafana 🇿🇦🙌🏿

I’m always understanding of a player having a bad game. But making the defensive error that leads to a goal and getting sent off? 😔

Mbekezeli Mbokazi, who could make his World Cup debut for South Africa against Mexico in the opening fixture of the 2026 tournament, is the most popular Major League Soccer player you've never heard of. The 20-year-old is one of the brightest prospects in South African soccer, and when he moved from Orlando Pirates to Chicago, his fans followed. More than 572,000 accounts from South Africa follow the Fire, representing a quarter of the team’s social media audience. And mere months into his tenure in MLS, he has gone on to outpace Lionel Messi, Son Heung-min and the rest of the league’s players in fan voting for the summer’s All-Star Game. ✍️ @PaulTenorio READ FOR FREE: nyti.ms/4vzyvzm

The World Cup begins tomorrow, and many will watch the matches. Soccer reminds us of something we must not forget: life is not a race to show off on our own, but a path we learn to walk together. Anyone who does not know how to pass the ball, even if they have talent, has not yet understood the game. Anyone who does not know how to live with and for others has not yet understood life. #ApostolicJourney

We should go back to using Twitter as it was intended - you screaming into a void long enough for someone else to scream back. Eventually you find your tribe and start building a great community with people who care about the things you care about.

Remember the scrutiny, doubt, and pessimism when South Africa hosted the World Cup? Now look at the chaos in the news for this year's tournament. It’s become so much clearer how the world uses a completely different scale to judge certain countries.
