Massachusetts’ Strong Job Growth Continues as State Gains 8,500 Jobs in April; Unemployment Rate Remains at 4.7%.

Retirement continues to be a primary driver for the decline in the Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) which decreased slightly to 65.6%, while the LFPR for workers 25-54 is 86.7%, its highest level in 10 years.
This data is publicly available online (mass.gov/EconomicResearch) and the May unemployment and job estimates are scheduled to be released on Monday, June 22, 2026.
Employers like @AccuRounds are leveraging registered apprenticeship to strengthen their talent pipeline while helping employees gain new skills and advance their careers.
By registering their apprenticeship program with us, they can also take advantage of tax credit savings.
Last year, we launched a pilot program in which #MassHire regional Workforce Boards in Gateway Cities, like @MasshireNCWB, partnered with employers committed to hiring youth and young adults.
