THANK YOU! Even at PhD level, here in the UK, in 4 years of PhD, I have only ever met one single Black PhD student. And zero Black postdoc, lecturer or prof. These conversations need to be pushed, especially in STEM topics I feel.
In light of the recent conundrum, we have to act and do good. To make an actual difference in the academic world, we need to include more BAME scientists as postdocs, lecturers etc.

I hope to get to this stage one day, who knows? 🤞. Also the collaboration is mad, I think universities across continents are well represented.

Carbonate geologist, we have published a new paper questioning the terms packstones and floatstones in Marine and Petroleum Geology, titled: “Packstones and floatstones: Ambiguous textures and origins in need of critical appraisal” - ScienceDirect sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
Couldn’t have done without your support. I’m so chuffed with this good news amidst the relatively bad news globally! Looking forward to other exciting opportunities #postdoc
Here's to the newly crowned King of Clasts @Mass_flows passing his PhD defense. A pleasure to examine w @TheRhodRecord and dig into the hidden secrets of submarine landslide deposits. Congrats to supervisors @SedLogic Mads Huuse @man_basins

First paper from @dr_cox23 published today in @AAPG Bulletin and made the front cover too! This work looks at ancient submarine landslide offshore Greenland that is beautifully captured in 3D seismic data. It is #openaccess too!

I made a very simple, well-documented workflow in #Python#Jupyter training 5 different #MachineLearning models with a simple, low dimensional dataset for ease of visualization. Gain some immediate experience training machines! On #github @ git.io/JexS2 ∀.
We're live! Basin Research is of now officially on @Twitter. Follow us for updates, tweets about the exciting research published in our journal, as well as useful information for authors, reviewers and the general sedimentary basins community.
🌊 We spoke with Dr @sedlogic about how we are trying to understand how microplastics are transported to the deep-sea floor in an effort to combat the growing ecological problem @WorldOceansDay#WorldOceansDay
If you like/love “mass transport and related deposits”, please come chat with me at poster stand P11 today, 9am-12pm and let’s ‘flow’ together. #AAPG_ACE_2019#SanAntonio
