Some we are happy to ..... are just for optics oooo
Some years back, my landlord increased my rent after I had just stayed in his house for a year. The upward review was shocking, and so was the amount. He doubled my rent. I initially thought that he wanted to evict me, but that wasn't the plan. After pleas and all, he settled for 50% increment. His kids used to come around, and they were quite chatty. About 3 or 4 months into my new tenancy, they came one day, and we got talking. Randomly, one of them said something like: "Daddy saw you on TV long time ago. The time you people went to court for one big man. He said 'ha David is a big lawyer o.' It was on Channels". I immediately figured what the girl was talking about. It was one case of public interest involving a huge sum of money. With colleagues, I was standing behind my boss, who was being interviewed. I also connected the dots and realised that it was that interview that my landlord saw when he decided that his lawyer tenant had stumbled upon stupendous wealth and fortune, necessitating a call for his part by tinkering with my rent. He knacked me rent review. He didn't know that standing behind a big lawyer during an interview isn't the same as being a big lawyer. Since then, anytime I see young lawyers behind their bosses during interviews, especially in "big" cases, I always laugh at them and myself. And among other things, that event informed my deep reservation for interviews and stuff like: "Happy to have represented XYZ in a 50 Billion Naira whatever". I was lucky it was a landlord who had that notion of what happened. Imagine if... Never mind.

Partly true . Many academies and clubs are unaware of their rights to Training compensation and solidarity payments. Last year we had a client who never received a dime despite sales of player to international team. The difference is information and access
Somewhere, a Nigerian has started calling people frantically to set up a football academy hoping to make a truckload of cash by the next transfer window. He’s just read the Yohanna story and the money looks good. Hello, your eyes will peel. Oju yin a bo. As financially-driven and financially rewarding football may be, majority still end up regretting ever getting into it. It rewards passion, but also can be a brutal place to be. There are many academies still hoping to see their first breakthrough. In Nigeria today, there are more academies than good footballers. The ones who are good may not have the right attitude or the right mentality. If you want to invest because you’re eyeing big bucks in one year, again, oju yin a bo. Your eyes will peel.

This is called training compensation and solidarity payments under FiFa rules and calculations are different.
If they follow the FIFA rule, the Naija academy get a little over £1m out of this deal. If they went a step further and added say a 10% clause, that’s over £2m. Either way, big difference for a local academy. For all its faults, FIFA have some rules that have helped to keep football alive in smaller and poorer countries.

Most times, when employee says the boss is strict, stingy or handy.. it's mostly an employee resistance to basic accountability or standards!

I find it deeply offensive when people compare Arsenal to terrorists. Terrorists actually attack.

Those who protested and carried placards under Jonathan regime have just reminded us pastors are not activists. Prayer for Nigeria in distress…😩

Sadly this is bereft of courtesy to the lawyer. His name could be blurred, I see his office at least 4 times a week but most times randomly pray for his enlargement. Not everyone has their kernel broken for them!
I swear, I didnt imagine I’d ever see this in my lifetime 😂😂😭

I just realized men actually love a woman who can admit she’s wrong and apologize instead of turning it into a whole argument.

My own cup is empty. This is why I am currently unable to pour into others. If anyone cares about me, this is the time to pour into me. Even the strongest soldiers sometimes get vulnerable and need rest.
