Meet Marley Horn, whose love of coaching soccer was her first foray into working with children. However it was her work in a bilingual elementary classroom that sealed her fate and love for teaching. Meet our 2023 Outstanding Grad in Elementary Education: colorado.edu/education/2023/…

From Chat GPT: "When teaching a four-year-old to read, it is important to understand the child's learning style and tailor the instruction accordingly...Every child has a unique learning style, which may include visual, auditory, or kinesthetic (hands-on) learning." Cool, cool.
Bill Gates says A.I. chatbots will teach kids to read within 18 months: "You’ll be ‘stunned by how it helps.’ "The AI’s will get to that ability, to be as good a tutor as any human ever could." It’s a new beginning of the education system.

I don't remember where I heard this, but someone explained Twitter as the place where you can say "I like pancakes" and strangers reply, "Why do you hate waffles?" Examples: Way too many #mathed conversations about instruction, course options, ed policy, etc...

I wish IM wasn't hiring for this position. Instead, I wish #mathed funded independent/3rd party researchers to answer questions about impact and efficacy, and their results were published in independent, peer-reviewed outlets. I don't think I'll get this wish but I can wish it!
Hey education research types (assuming you’re still here on twitter), I’m looking for a Director of Impact. Spread the word. (I’m the hiring manager, happy to answer questions.) Details here: illustrativemathematics.appl…
