SAT changes incoming!
Big SAT changes. Glad that are shortening the test and allowing calculators on the entire math section. I hope “shortening the reading section” means eliminating the dual passage and/or the 1800s historical documents nytimes.com/2022/01/25/us/sa…

Had a tough tutoring session where I couldn’t answer all of my student’s questions.I try to model good behavior for the students. Not everyone knows everything at all times. You have to react well and grind to get the correct stuff, even if after the fact. I’m on My Grind

One of the things i hated most in school is now one of my favorite things to explain to students - how to find the electric field at a point far away from a charged ring.
My students all know this and they feel the pressure

I love tutoring because not only do I help kids learn the content, but I help them deal with the emotional complexity of taking a 3 hour exam. I also focus on preparing for it in a healthy way. No use being burnt out on test day

Many colleges know this, and they put less importance on the ACT / SAT. But it still stresses the hell out of students and parents. I hate seeing kids being stressed out

Students tend to underperform on standardized exams because they are so different from most existing school exams. It’s almost unfair because if you’re not being tutored, you’re at a huge disadvantage
