Putin sends a message to G7 and European Council summits this week: he bets on terror instead of diplomacy. I urge the G7 and European leaders to hear this message well and ensure a proper response: stronger air defense for Ukraine and pressure on the aggressor. At least 4 civilians have been killed and almost 30 injured in Kyiv as a result of Russia’s massive attack with the use of over 60 missiles and hundreds of drones. Russia also killed 5 first responders in a vile double-tap strike on Kharkiv. There have been more casualties across Ukraine in Dnipro, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Mykolayiv, Zaporizhzhia, and other regions. As the 21st century’s worst barbarian, Putin specifically targeted unique religious and cultural sites. Russians severely damaged the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra; bombed the historic Oleksandr Dovzhenko Film Studios, destroying Ukraine’s largest and oldest costumes collection; struck the Kharkiv Art Museum and the Dnipro House Of Organ And Chamber Music. Russia has no justification for ruining lives, targeting residential areas, and destroying Ukrainian culture. It must be held accountable for its crimes. This attack demonstrates the urgent need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense. This is priority number one. Additional contributions to PURL, strong decisions to provide Ukraine with air defense systems and interceptors. We also urge our partners to speed up the Ukraine-led European effort to develop our own protection from ballistic threats. It is time to deprive barbarians such as Putin from their terrorist tools.

The opening of the first cluster is significant political and moral support for our state and our people. I met with President of Finland @alexstubb and Prime Minister of Norway @jonasgahrstore. I informed them about contacts at the leaders’ level in the E3–Ukraine format as well as our contacts with the American side. Right now, all our partners note that Ukraine’s positions on the frontline are significantly stronger, and therefore the approaches in diplomacy, which we are now working to reinvigorate, must be based precisely on this. Unfortunately, Russia is trying to compensate for its enormous losses on the battlefield with strikes on our cities and communities, on civilian infrastructure. That is why air defense missiles are our top priority. And we discussed how to secure additional supplies for Ukraine right now, as well as efforts to develop a European anti-ballistic missile system. I am grateful to Alex and Jonas, and to the people of Finland and Norway, for their steadfast assistance and support. We appreciate that our agreements are being implemented.

There are different people around Putin. Half of them want to continue this war and the other half want to stop it. Businessmen understand that the Russian economy is in a terrible situation. If Western countries – Europe, Canada, and the U.S. – don’t lift their sanctions, put more pressure on the Russian shadow fleet and other sectors, and Ukraine stays strong on the battlefield, then we will be closer to peace. I told this businessman, who came to deliver the message about a potential framework of diplomatic negotiations, that we were ready to speak from the very beginning. We didn't want this war, and we want to stop it. Yesterday I told the journalists that in Anchorage, Russia and the U.S. decided to speak about Ukraine without Ukraine. It was a mistake, especially for America, because Putin weakened the U.S. position. I think he was lying to the President of the United States. The current Ukrainian superiority in mid-range drone warfare is a brilliant advantage that comes with an expiration date. Failing to prepare for the day Russia matches this capability guarantees a catastrophic collapse of front line logistics for Ukraine. Ukraine is rightfully capitalizing on its drone edge to annihilate Russian transport networks in occupied zones. This structural disruption is hurting Russian logistics across the board. The problem is that the Kremlin is pouring massive resources into catching up, meaning this window of superiority will eventually close. When Russia deploys AI-enhanced mid-range strike drones at scale, any logistical movement within 100 kilometers of the front line faces destruction (on both sides). To survive, Ukraine must prepare immediately by layering multiple defensive measures. Securing future supply lines means installing more road nets, creating more specialized anti-drone drone units, adding cages to transport vehicles, shifting to logistical UGVs, and even building tunnels (when possible). This situation is a harsh wake-up call for Europe as well. Western doctrine relies heavily on the assumption that logistics remain somewhat safe beyond conventional artillery range. This is a dangerous misconception that modern drone warfare is permanently erasing, and European nations must watch and learn before it is too late

I am so tired of all misunderstandings of Russia's war against Ukraine & the US role: 1. Russia is pursuing a major colonial war. 2. No colonial power has won such a war after World War II. 3. Nations are born out of war & this war has cemented the Ukrainian nation. 4. For Ukraine, this war is existential. In Russia, it is only existential for Putin. 5. Therefore Ukraine cannot give up & Putin will lose (though we cannot know when or exactly how). 6. This war has united Europe & given it a new purpose. The old purpose of the EU was to keep peace internally. The new purpose is to stand up to Russia. 7. Trump has taken the US out of the war & the US is not likely to come back. Trump is Putin's obedient servant (though fortunately dumb & incompetent). 8. Europe needs to take over NATO since the US is abandoning it. 9. The new forms of warfare & the current US incompetence are likely to render the US military & arms obsolete very fast. 10. The EU needs to embrace Ukraine & Moldova & Western Balkans & invite the UK, Norway & Iceland.
