What was your first electric guitar? Mine was this 1991 Samick YR-660, which was originally red and was a gift from my brother. In 2019, I decided to overhaul it into a heavy metal beast. Let me see yours! 🎸

What’s your favorite local guitar shop? I try to visit a guitar shop whenever I’m in a new city and found this beautiful PRS in Nottingham, UK. Always looking for recommendations! 🎸

Beautiful guitar guys… but you might need to give your guitar holder a break 😆

Long before Fender’s legal blitz, PRS produced their own S-style bolt-on, and I’m not referring to the Silver Sky. This 1989 PRS EG4 played a huge role in that story. It was the first prototype ever made on the EG jigs in Annapolis. What’s your favorite non-Fender S-style? 👇🏼

Some guitars are truly beautiful works of art. The neck on this PRS McCarty 594 is definitely one of the prettiest in my collection. Have any pics that make you say wow? 👇🏼

Scallops for days… and Birdseye too!
Follow up on my earlier post: the neck on this Custom Shop 69 Strat is a trip. I’ve never played the Yngwie Malmsteen Strat but I have to imagine this is pretty close. Definitely requires a light touch.
Deepest scallops you’ve ever played (or owned)? 👇🏼

In 1995, I got Steve Vai’s Alien Love Secrets album and tab book as a gift and instantly became hooked. I’m now fortunate enough to have a 2002 Fujigen JEM and a 2025 PIA. Very cool how this guitar design evolved while possessing the same spirit. What inspired you to buy your guitar? 👇

My favorite song on that album is Tender Surrender, followed by Juice and Bad Horsie, which ultimately inspired my first pedal purchase: the Morley Bad Horsie Wah.

The JEM was the first guitar that let me dive into the scalloped fretboard feel. The PIA is more refined instrument but still has that same DNA running through it.

One of only ~150 made, this rare 2010 PRS Custom 22 Soapbar 10 Top (triple soapbars, “Angry Larry” finish) survived a car accident in the trunk. The original owner had it in the case when he got rear ended. My friend, a luthier/guitar shop owner at the time, bought the wrecked guitar and repaired it. That’s how I ended up with it. Plays great despite the scars and I love the P90s. Anyone else have a guitar with some carnage and a good story? 👇

You can see the cracks and finish missing on the back and edges where it was put back together. The neck and electronics survived mostly untouched.
