🤔🤔🤔 While Mr. Thabo Mbheki is asking that question i would like to add my question about the whereabouts of the 106 municipalities investigation report.
✔️ R17.5 million was spent since 1 January 2019 on investigations into maladministration, fraud and corruption in municipalities.
Democratic Alliance failed also. 👇
8 February 2023 the report was released and given to the hawks but till today the hawks has disappeared.
The DA in Dihlabeng Local Municipality welcomed the presentation of the Section 106 report by the HOD in the presence of the MEC of COGTA, Mxolisi Dukwana, on the investigation of leadership and councillors who are allegedly involved in questionable and criminal acts. The presentation was a summary of the full report handed over to the South African Police Services' Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks).
A concern mentioned by the HOD is that Dihlabeng is now being classified as dysfunctional and that the municipality is fast heading to the "billions club"(municipalities that owe a billion rand or more to Eskom).
The investigation was initiated by COGTA. Multiple projects had previously been flagged by the DA following tender irregularities. Additionally, we raised concerns regarding the legislative processes followed since the start of the Section 106 investigation to ensure that no one implicated can get off on a technicality, as has happened many times before. The next step is to have all tenders, as well as all personnel skills and qualifications, audited.
The identity of these individuals is hidden until a case is brought against them and the proper procedures have been followed. The DA has put up a valiant fight to hold the municipality accountable. For the past six years, we have voted against an unfunded budget and filed a motion of no confidence in the Executive Mayor for the same irregularities highlighted in the report.
Where is the DA?👇👇
The DA will see to it that all procedures are followed to ensure all responsible parties are held to account.
