11yo has decided to play the trombone in her school band; evidence is mounting that her primary motivation for the choice is so that she can follow her little brother around the house making sad trombone noises whenever anything bad happens to him.
I'm back with another #CPATA thread, listening in on the Q&A sessions with our illustrious registrar, @JStrawczynski.
Already hitting a high note by saying that CPATA is what's going to elevate patent and trademark agents to being "a real profession." Is this how you win friends?
Few quick updates on the FR #CPATA Q&A session I also attended: predictably the formula was the same, 30 min of monologue, but only 20 min of questions (hard to say if there were just no more questions left or if it ended early for some other reason)
Someone asked why the requirement to have a professional technical degree was removed (it existed pre-#CPATA). Strawczynski says he doesn't believe this is necessary, and that other forms of expertise may suffice.
That's the answer of someone without a technical degree!
I'm attending the annual General Assembly for the College of Patent and Trademark Agents, or CPATA, taking place in Ottawa. Mute this thread if you're not interested in my live tweeting! #CPATA
Mr. @JStrawczynski, if you see this: given that you spent years selling liability insurance to lawyers, do you think it's appropriate for you to play a role in deciding which patent and trademark agents also need to acquire liability insurance? #CPATA
