This osprey was just sitting in front of this super vivid rainbow by my house tonight, and then I thought to myself that you might like to see it, so I took a picture and now I'm posting it here.

Have you ever seen a Native American church? I went to one, and I was fascinated by the way almost all of the imagery and symbols in the church were reimagined in the style of Arapahoe culture and beliefs. Here's what it looked like: youtu.be/zT23SO4fh7I

Our ancestors made an America-themed Bible in 1976 to commemorate our bicentennial. How does it compare to the most popular America-themed Bible today? youtu.be/O_gQ30liz_w

All I see when I look at the middle one on the bottom row is the guy rummaging through the return bin to see if maybe just maybe there's a copy of Shrek 2 in there.

I wrote a Bible Field Guide with Harper Collins/Zondervan and it comes out in a week in the U.S. It's built to make the big picture of the Bible make sense by asking questions of each book that we all ask when we're deeply invested stories we love. This is a reliable companion for serious Bible readers and newcomers alike. It's also the kind of thing that would make a ton of sense as a graduation gift. Here's a link: amzn.to/4tFJEOe

It’s cool most of the Bible is understandable on a first read, but it's also cool that some parts are super hard. That’s exactly what you’d expect from a book ordained by a God who wants to be known yet is perfect and infinite. I wrote an article about the Bible's easy-to-hard ratio for Bible Gateway. shorturl.at/VMcDt

If you want to get a quick taste of every single book of the Bible, I made this Tour of the Bible reading plan with key verses from each book. It takes about an hour and a half to complete. I put together this plan while working on "The Lightning-Fast Field Guide to the Bible" which comes out next month. Here's a link to the book and the plan: thetmbh.com/tourofthebible

Want to start something brand new today that could make a huge difference in your life? A ton of friends from around the Internet and I are going to start working through the book of John together (from the Bible) a little bit every weekday. It's an audio-only podcast, ten-ish minutes a day, meant to make sense to people who are new to the Bible and people who've been around it forever. It's free. It's for everybody. We'll learn and have fun. You should jump in. Here's the link: open.spotify.com/episode/27o…

It's weird to me that Slovakia is ahead of us on this. What's alleged in the Epstein files aren't little errors in judgment or missteps - the files characterize pervasive, entitled, sadistic evil. I hope to see contrition, resignations and prosecutions here in the United States.

Getting the Epstein files released was a bipartisan effort between @RepThomasMassie (R) and @RoKhanna (D). I'm grateful to them, and I'm grateful that we're still unified enough as a country to condemn all the evil stuff described in those files.

"Why are many American Christians cruel?" Fair question. First, the internet amplifies anger, and many loud angry "Christians" are bots or inauthentic accounts. So there's that. Second, I think most are great, but you just don't hear from them as much here. Third, when we're talking about real Christian humans who are jerks, I find it often stems from insecurity. They've sunk a lot into their faith, but they: 1) Struggle with doubt (which is natural and okay). 2) Believe that consensus is what makes something true (which is false and not what the Bible teaches). 3) Are afraid that if consensus moves too far away from Christianity, then maybe Christianity isn't true. 4) Haven't identified that this is what they're going through, so that turmoil and wrongly-structured faith manifests in anger, and sometimes metastasizes into bitterness. There are other reasons we can act like jerks, but maybe that's one version of how we can get twisted up and turn mean that's a little bit humanizing at least. I think people from other ideologies can experience that cycle as well. Of course, I know tons and tons of Christians from all different traditions who are full of love, joy, and kindness even in bad circumstances. They have a peace that doesn't make sense relative to what's happening around them. You don't hear from those kinds of Christians as much on the Internet.
Anybody have any thoughts on why many American "Christians" are some of the cruelest people out there? What's the psychology there?

Two deaths in two weeks is too much. Even if the immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis is necessary, and even if there's been provocation, that's just too high a cost. At minimum, it's time to step back, calm things down, and reevaluate.

It's completely reasonable to enforce borders and immigration law. Literally every country ever has done that. I know some people don't want any enforcement at all right now. I disagree with them. I know others are fine with an enforcement-at-any-cost approach. I also disagree with them. Both mentalities are un-shrewd and threaten the rule of law, civil liberties, and the general well-being of the country.

Look, even if you like the current immigration enforcement policies, it's time to admit this isn't effective and it isn't right.
