Lucky enough to be able to write - and occasionally talk - about motor sport for a living. One day I'll get a proper job.

There’s an even better story in David McErlain ( behind the scenes supporter of Tyrrell to tune of several mill $) autobiography ‘Street Fighter’ on how BCE and others tried to sell Ken and his team down the river.
Ah! Now there's a story to be told!

Thank you, Michael. Much appreciated.
Read this again last week, Maurice, prompted by your post. A brilliant brilliant book. Rush was probably the best racing film. However, ‘The life of Lauda’ is a blockbuster Netflix series just waiting to happen in my opinion. @HillF1 @frentzen_hh @rwilliams1947

The current #F1 cars may leave a lot to be desired but qualifying at Monaco was a classic. All about the driver. Leclerc's save on penultimate lap at first swimming pool chicane. The unbelievably close fight between Antonelli and Verstappen for pole.

Seven years today since his passing. A privilege to write about the life of such an extraordinary and much-missed character.

Only Niki Lauda could do something like this…

You need every writer to leave the room. With a multi-national press corps, there's never going to be immediate agreement. It just takes one or two to remain, publish a tasty quote and your sports editor will want to know why you haven't got it. 'Solidarity' will be meaningless
Quite right @matthewsyed, every journalist in the Red Bull press conference should have walked out with @Giles_Richards. I suspect they were shocked and rooted to their chairs. But next time - and there will be a next time - they should all leave together. thetimes.com/sport/formula-o…

A timeline of the human relations story between two high-powered genius engineers.
The real story behind Adrian Newey's changing role at Aston Martin has nothing to do with the #F1 team's struggles — @sportmphmark has the story go.motorsportmagazine.com/4s…

How on earth did that happen? Delighted (obv - five years after publication!) but so pleased that this broadcasting - and much missed - legend should still be remembered. Incredible!

Have to say this is a surprise: not Newey standing down - he should never have accepted the TP role in the first place - but Wheatley's switch after such a comparatively short time.

They've got great taste, Mum! Thank you...👍👏
Mother's Day present from my No. 1 and No.2 drivers. "Because you liked the George Russell one." It's taken a good few years but we are finally getting somewhere with #F1 in the family 😅 Even if they don't believe I actually have a job other than looking after them.
