On the third anniversary of Russia's brutal onslaught on Ukraine, I share some insights into the situation of young people in the country on the basis of @BritishCouncil report I worked on recently for @LSEnews x.com/LSEnews/status/1893933…

🇺🇦 Three years on from the Russian invasion of #Ukraine, Dr @MaxFras @LSEEI looks at how the devastation of war has impacted young people in Ukraine, and how the majority choose to stay in their country in the hope of building a brighter future.

I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but looks like the fantastic & one of its kind Bar Polski in Holborn has closed down. A special place & Polish institution in heart of London for 30 years, another everyday symbol of our #PolesinUK presence here - gone. Absolutely gutted.

Apparently, children as young as 4 will be subjected to EU "mind control" when UK rejoins Erasmus. The Tories have really lost the plot this time.

Paris, where I live, has transformed from a carbound into a bike-dominated city. In the process it became a trendsetter for the world's other cities. Now Paris's mayoral elections are a referendum on that shift. What lessons from Paris? Me @FinancialTimes as.ft.com/r/afafe14b-287d-4a…

Few thoughts on the "Polish exodus" from the UK. 1. It's not an 'exodus', it's a slow drip. We're fine, thanks. 2. Migration is really complicated. 3. The absolute cheek of the very same media attacking Poles for years lamenting their departure. 4. What you can do? THREAD 🧵

Thankfully Olivier doesn't run the Commission. It would have been madness to retaliate against US given EU's geopolitical vulnerabilities. What Olivier describes as "stormy waters" could have meant Ukraine being thrown under the bus. Even if a 1% risk, would it be worth it? 1/
What I worried about has happened. A completely unequal “deal” between the US and the EU. Have no doubt: asymmetric 15% tariffs are a EU defeat. When the law of the jungle prevails, the weak have little choice than to accept their fate. But Europe could potentially have been strong, either alone or in a coalition with others. It would have had to be ready for stormy waters. But it would have gotten a better deal in the end and sent a strong message to the world. An opportunity lost.
