With the new first-person arms in @sboxgame, I thought I'd add a tiny thing: the ability to animate the forearm twist helpers ON TOP of the procedural twist. This allows you to tweak the pose, but also to do a very basic, "low-tech" muscle jiggle, like in this quick test anim:

ALT 3D animation of an arm twisting its wrist back and forth very quickly, causing the flesh further up the forearm to jiggle and settle.

Some fun off-camera trickery: in the middle of this shot, I switch from a keyframed anim to a mocap take on Sven. Fastest & simplest solution was to use TWO Svens... the way they move in & out is very deliberate, so that the shadow (which is still in frame) wouldn't look weird.

At first, I wasn't sold on the "fake crowd" sounds... but whoever is piloting the system during the games is doing a really great job at making it sound like the real thing 👍 #TI10

It's not much, but there's a couple things with my animation setup for @sboxgame that I'm really happy with. Right at the end of the animgraph, there's a loop of tiny (±2°) eye darts that plays on top of everything. And when looking around, eyes are ALWAYS leading the movement!

There are 3 "look at" systems chained back-to-back: pelvis spine, neck head, and eyes. The body is set to have loose spring damping, the head less so, and the eyes have none, so they lead! (Guns in your hands are also set that way, and in that case body damping is dialed back.)

Those "look chains" can all be fed a different Vector3 input, so ideally I'd like to do stuff like locking your eyes right at another player's if you look within ±20° of theirs. But I'm stoked at how this current setup already avoids the "1000 yard stare" syndrome pretty well 😄
