A Frankfort police officer who was caught on camera slamming his K9 partner to the ground has now been charged with animal cruelty and official misconduct.
Officer Ethan Cunningham said the K9 tried to bite him but witness statements and videos said otherwise

Mexican prosecutors say they have arrested Joseph Butler for the murder of his girlfriend Makala Pendley.
Pendley was from Indianapolis and was found dead earlier this week in the state of Chiapas.
Prosecutors say they’ll seek a 100 year sentence for Butler

The prosecutor said Butler has numerous warrants out for him in the U.S. for assault, robbery, fraud, illegal possession of firearms, intimidation, dealing drugs, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, use of a false identity, and rape.

A bronze bust of Ryan White was unveiled down at IU today.
White became the face of AIDS when he was kicked out of his Indiana high school for having it and successfully fought to return.
He always wanted to go to IU but died of the disease in 1990. Now he's there.

A man jumped to his death from an Indianapolis parking garage this evening after police tried to talk him down.
If you or someone you know is currently experiencing thoughts of suicide please call 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
Despite officers' attempts to de-escalate the situation and bring the individual to safety, he went over the edge of the parking garage and sustained injuries consistent with a fall. Medics were already staged nearby and unfortunately pronounced him deceased on-scene.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the male's loved ones during this difficult time.
The scene will be active for the next few hours as investigators process the scene.

While I’m being told that the Bears announcement on Hammond is “real”,
i.e. not a leverage play, a league source told me that the Bears leaving the state is not a done deal. Per source, Indiana is in the lead right now, but “Illinois can still get back in the race,” granted the state has a lot of ground to make up after not passing legislation that would have insured the Bears property tax certainty.
