I love Neon Postgres and its branching feature, but last month we spent 58% of our total bill on network traffic. That’s unsustainable. Will make github.com/elitan/velo production-ready and move off Neon this month.

You're probably not using Fluent objects as much in your Laravel projects, but there are a super super nice middle-ground between passing plain arrays or super rigid DTOs around. Giving you access to all of those nice Request helpers, but now decoupled from the HTTP request.

Ghostty is leaving GitHub. I'm GitHub user 1299, joined Feb 2008. I've visited GitHub almost every single day for over 18 years. It's never been a question for me where I'd put my projects: always GitHub. I'm super sad to say this, but its time to go. mitchellh.com/writing/ghostt…

Want to use native(false) on ALL your @filamentphp select fields? Here’s a super easy trick: Set it once for the whole app instead of adding it to every single field by itself.

Handy trick for @filamentphp resource badges: use the Laravel flexible cache to stop hitting the database on every load. Shows the old count while the new one updates silently. ✨

if you keep reusing the same code in your @filamentphp resources, just turn it into a custom component and clean everything up! ✨

Some generic off-the-cuff test suite performance tips that helped cut a suite's runtime be 60%. Maybe they'll be useful to you too.
This is without knowing anything about your test suite or app, but a few thoughts off the top of my noggin. Realistically, I don't think there will be a quick solve here. My guess is item one will be the place to dig but also requires the most work.

Postgres is using 80% of RAM, and that's a good thing. But what's it actually doing with all that memory? At what point should you take action to mitigate usage? Our latest blog breaks it down. planetscale.com/blog/high-me…

Laravel 13 now supports browser native Sec-Fetch-Site headers to determine cross-site requests. This means those nasty 419 errors will hardly ever be a thing anymore, and we can all just delete our custom exception handlers for the TokenMismatchException. Great stuff 📸

After my talk @LaraconEU this week, I had a decent number of people mention to me that they had never heard of the methods I spoke about on stage. Given that, I thought it would a nice idea to put together a website with a collection of lesser known Laravel methods, so et voila: lesserknownlaravel.com/

If you rate-limit in Laravel and try having multiple limits at the same time, "per day" & "per minute" limits, make sure you give them distinct 'by' names. Or else, you might trigger a race condition where your "per day" timeout is used for a "per minute" maximum value. Whoops.
