The Uk just entered the chat! Welcome.
This morning, UK forces boarded a Russian tanker in the English Channel that was secretly helping to bankroll Putin's war in Ukraine. The first operation of its kind led by British forces, and a clear message: there is nowhere to hide.

The AI war is here. Yesterday the US government forced Anthropic to remove its latest model Claude Fable 5/Mythos 5 for all non-us citizens. I used the model as late as just before this notice came. Now it is unavailable for me as a Swede. Europe has no LLM (ai model) in the top 20 ai models. The US has 15, China 5. Europe 0. So we are one decision away, by actors we don’t control and that don’t want our best, to have all frontier ai removed. Removed from Europe. I hope you understand the gravity of the situation we are in. No one thought ai models would be restricted. Now they are just another tool the US and China can use to put pressure on the world and on us in Europe. Once again - this is exactly why we founded my Defence tech venture fund Gungnir Capital . To support European defence and security. It is not great having our fund thesis proven over and over again.

Ukraine is now showing what we have known for a long time: drones are going towards full autonomy. This is the natural way forward Right now Ukraine is remote controlling most drones. This requires 2 things: -back/uplinks -skilled operators Ukraine now has a big supply of skilled operators. The west does not. The problems with the up- and downlinks is that it requires transmission through electromagnetic band or fiber optic cables or satcom. This drives cost and creates vulnerability of the system and the remote controllers (not satcom typically as much). Full autonomy removes the need for transmission. x.com/FedorovMykhailo/status…

This is exactly what I talked about last week on NATO Stratcom dialogue: How do you communicate increased defence spending to the population of NATO? The answer is: you show why it is needed, and what you are doing. Demonstrating nato capability- like actively defending NATO airspace- is exactly what the population is looking for. It is concrete. It is what the population wants. Well done. x.com/markomihkelson/status/…

Unprotected command posts is not the way.
Multiple Iranian ballistic missiles struck the U.S. Air Force’s Combined Air Operations Centre (CAOC) at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, in the early weeks of the Iran War, severely damaging the facility which ran America’s air campaigns in the Middle East for over two decades and rendering it inoperable, a senior U.S. official and other people informed about the attack told Air & Space Forces Magazine. No personnel were injured in the attack as it was not in use at the time, with the air campaign against Iran being directed from a facility at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina.

Russian war crimes continue.
Russian FPV drone slams into an ambulance in Kherson today. This is clearly a civilian medical vehicle and the EMTs are noncombatants under the Geneva Convention. Utterly sick.

Quite clear view of one of the Russian launch methods: using pick up trucks to send shaheeds airborne - here on Donetsk airport, using the runway (and taxiways?) to have enough time to get the correct speed to launch.
❗️The 🇺🇦Unmanned Systems Forces managed to conduct a unique operation to destroy launch sites for 🇷🇺Russian “Shahed” drones and to establish fire control over Donetsk Airport.

I have been flying close to Boikiy many times. Will not miss it!
Ukrainian attack drones successfully attacked Russia's Kronstadt naval base this morning, hitting and heavily damaging the Steregushchy-class corvette Boikiy in drydock. The Boikiy was one of the most capable surface combatants in the Russian Navy's Baltic Fleet.

Interesting if true.
WATCH: Russia is airlifting huge amounts of North Korean soldiers and Equipment to the frontlines In Ukraine, I have noted over the last 3 days at least 10 flights of AN-148 troop transfers and ll-76md military cargo flights flying from Vladivostok to Eastern Russia.

In parts of Germany they still call a bad drink a ”Schwedentrunk” - after the Swedish punishment of force feeding German peasants manure/dung and horse piss. 400 years later… Says something of the ”mark” that we left on the continent 😅
We had a Swedish officer in our class at the air defense captain's course. One of the other US officers made a comment about Sweden being known for Ikea, leading me to invoke Gustavus Adolphus and how the mere mention of Swedes being on the way used to cause entire German countrysides to empty in panic. Our Swede just smiled modestly and said: "Those were the days."

I have done numerous intercepts as a fighter pilot in the Swedish Air Force. Russian pilots are behaving very unprofessionally and being dangerous. Doesn’t look very professional to turn in front of your intercept object.
🇬🇧🇷🇺 British MoD released footage from an encounter with Russian Sukhoi Su-27P and Su-35S fighter jets over the international waters of the Black Sea, recorded from the cabin of a Royal Air Force's Boeing RC-135V Rivet Joint ELINT ISR plane. According to the UK's statement, the RC-135 was performing a routine reconnaissance mission when it was "dangerously intercepted" by Russian fighter jets. Despite these maneuvers, RAF crew was able to complete its mission safely, the statement also said. 🎥 @DefenceHQ
