Mondays With Maya #160 Recap
This week we covered protocol upgrades, Cardano progress, Zcash's recent network update, infrastructure improvements, and ongoing security work around TSS.
π Protocol Updates
Maya has seen strong trading volume over the past few days.
The next Maya release will include the latest Cosmos upgrade and support for the X upgrade path, allowing future updates to be deployed more efficiently.
Security patches previously implemented on THORChain are being merged into Maya.
Churning remains paused for now, but the upcoming release is expected to bring operations back to a more normal rhythm.
Fortuna is scheduled to upgrade today.
THORChain is expected to resume churning this week, with Maya likely following a similar timeline next week.
π‘οΈ Zcash Network Update
β’ Zcash recently deployed a soft fork after a vulnerability was discovered in the Orchard Pool.
β’ The network experienced temporary downtime and some operational challenges due to two rapid updates occurring in succession.
β’ A small number of transactions were observed on a forked chain that was later abandoned. Maya marked these transactions as completed, even though they never reached the final chain.
β’ Affected transactions will be manually refunded or rescheduled.
β’ Trading is expected to resume later today or tomorrow.
β’ The team praised the Zcash community for its quick response and coordination during the incident.
β’The circulating supply of ZEC was verified and remained unaffected.
β’Despite short-term market pressure, confidence in Zcash's privacy technology remains strong.
βοΈ Infrastructure & Development
β’ The team continues working toward the next release while improving internal infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
β’ Fixes to development and infrastructure bottlenecks are expected this week and should help accelerate future releases.
β’ Security remains a major focus, with additional work underway around TSS and GG20.
β’ Maya has already merged upstream GG20 improvements and is evaluating additional updates from future releases to further strengthen security.
π Cardano (ADA) Progress
β’ The ADA/CACAO pool is beginning to see organic trading activity.
β’ Liquidity depth currently sits around $15K
β’ The goal remains to increase depth to approximately $100K by the end of the month, depending on grant funding payouts.
β’ No signing issues have been observed so far, providing confidence to continue increasing liquidity depth.
β’ Integrators and interfaces are encouraged to begin enabling ADA support for users.
βοΈ New Chains Coming to Maya
β’ The team expects to begin adding several new chains throughout the summer, including:
β’ Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
β’ Binance Smart Chain (BSC)
β’ Solana (SOL)
β’ Kaspa (KAS)
These integrations are expected to arrive before the team shifts focus back to broader roadmap initiatives.
π New Status Dashboard
β’ A new status page has been launched to improve visibility into network operations.
β’ Users and integrators will be able to monitor:
β’ Node activity
β’ Block signing performance
β’ Chain availability
β’ Halted chains
β’ Overall network health
The goal is to provide a clearer view of system status while improving uptime, latency, and operational transparency.
π¦ LeoDex LP Interface
β’ The team gave a shoutout to LeoDex for launching its new LP Actions interface.
β’ Users looking to add liquidity to Maya can now use the updated experience through LeoDex.
πExplorer Update
β’ The team noted that MayaScan is no longer being actively maintained and may display inaccurate reward information.
β’ Users should instead use:
explorer.mayachain.info a the primary source for tracking rewards, MAYA distributions, and chain activity.
