It’s not just hard, it's sometimes unviable without substantial scale. Way back in 2022, we lost over β‚Ή20 lakhs attempting to develop electric standing desks in India because we couldn’t achieve the target cost, even after building a version that was very close to our original product goals. Fast forward to 2025, we launched a portable manual standing desk which is designed and made in India which got doubted by most people on X who called it imported and made me feel bad about investing over 30 lakhs on the tooling. We have priced it 1k lesser than the competition who is importing from China on Amazon and are almost doing same sales in that small category but it's not been very fruitful roi wise honestly. Tonight we are launching a premium version where only table top is made in India and it's 2026. So yeah, at times it's hard!
