As you spend time outside, remember to #BeatTheHeat with a few simple steps: drink lots of water, take breaks in the shade or A/C, and dress for the warm weather.
Check in on neighbors and loved ones - and remember: never leave children or pets in a parked car.

Today, we celebrate the birthday of our warrior on the hill, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton.
She has never accepted the limits that other people have tried to place on her or us—and when it comes for fighting for DC, she has never let us down.
From securing federal land for the District, expanding DCTAG, helping us build the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge, and bringing us even closer to DC statehood—her work is deeply embedded in the fabric of our great city.
And her service and her story is inseparable from the story of Washington, DC.
We wish you a very happy birthday, @EleanorNorton.

From FIFA World Cup watch parties, DPR activities for our young people, Freedom 250 events, and more—it's important everyone stays in the loop on all things traffic and weather impacts.
