9/9 Hallett (R, with Bane) left Air Service Dec 1922 to avoid Army req to deploy overseas every 4 years. Is going to work for Charles Kettering & General Motors Research Inst here in Dayton. Great loss. Replaced by ET Jones (2nd pic) as Power Plant chief. @DrMikeGregg @mikeheil

The U.S. Army withdraws its last occupational forces from Germany, departing from Coblenz and ending the stationing of troops there after more than four years. At noon, the American flag is lowered and the remaining American troops board trains at the Coblenz station.
