NEW: In January 2023, Mexican activist Antonio Diaz & his lawyer Ricardo Lagunes disappeared after a community assembly against a mine, their truck found abandoned & shot up.
The case shows how local cartels benefit from the presence of mining companies like steelmaker Ternium.
