🇺🇦 Meanwhile in Ukraine — telling Ukraine’s story to the world Every day, millions of people see only fragments of what Ukraine is living through. Our team of Ukrainian journalists works to change that — by reporting the truth, documenting courage, and amplifying the voices that Russia tries to silence. We show what really happens on the ground: — frontline stories and verified war updates — moments of resilience and humanity — culture, history, and the people who refuse to disappear — the global solidarity that keeps Ukraine alive We are fully independent. No sponsors. No state funding. Just Ukrainians doing everything they can to keep the world informed. If our work matters to you — if our posts helped you understand Ukraine better, feel closer to its people, or stay connected to the truth — we invite you to stand with us. Your support, even $3, keeps this project alive and ensures the world does not look away. From the U.S. to the U.K., Canada, Sweden, Australia and beyond — readers from more than 40 countries already help us continue. We’d be honoured to have you with us too. 💙💛 Thank you for being here. Vance: zero visits to Ukraine. Rubio: zero. Trump: zero. But Trump did invite Putin to the United States. Senator Mark Kelly made it plain: not a single senior member of the Trump administration has set foot in Ukraine. Not Vance. Not Rubio. Not Kushner. Not Witkoff - the men supposedly driving the peace process. They haven't been to the country whose future they're negotiating. Someone is deciding Ukraine's fate without ever looking it in the eye.

Today, the European Union took a major step forward. All Member States agreed to open the first accession negotiations cluster with Ukraine and Moldova. At the first Intergovernmental Conference on Monday, we will open the cluster on fundamentals; the backbone of the accession process. It covers the core values and principles on which the EU is built, from the rule of law to strong democratic institutions. This is a recognition of the determination, courage and hard work shown by both countries in advancing reforms, even in the face of immense challenges. And a signal that the EU’s offer of peace, stability and opportunity is unmatchable. Enlargement is a strategic choice. By bringing our nations closer together, we strengthen peace, security and prosperity across our continent. In a world marked by growing uncertainty, a larger European Union is in our common interest. Enlargement remains one of the EU’s greatest success stories and our best investment in our shared future.

Among all the European nations that have already joined the European Union or see such a prospect for themselves, Ukraine is the one making the greatest sacrifices for Europe. We are not simply carrying out internal reforms, nor are we simply going through a transformation. We are fighting for our state, for our independence, and for our right to choose our own path and to be Europe. And this right of ours is at the same time the right of every nation in our region. We are fighting for our freedom and theirs, for Europe for ourselves and for them – for the Baltic states and for Poland, for Hungary and Slovakia, for Romania and Moldova, and for the peoples of the Caucasus. That is why the fate of Europe is being decided here – it is being decided in Ukraine, in this war, and in how this war ends – and whether Russia will still have the strength and the desire after this war to threaten the existence of Ukraine and its other neighbors, and the entirety of Europe. That is why we must end this war with dignity and with guaranteed security. And this is what we will discuss with our partners during the G7 Summit in France, and later at the European Council Summit and at the NATO Summit in Ankara.

Russia has more to defend than the front line. Ukraine is making the rear count. ㅤ Ukraine is forcing Moscow to protect the systems behind its invasion: oil infrastructure, routes to occupied Crimea, training grounds, and weapons factories. These are the networks that fuel attacks, move forces, prepare personnel, and keep Russia’s war machine working. ㅤ The battlefield is expanding into everything Russia needs to keep the invasion alive. ㅤ patreon.com/MeanwhileinUkrai…

9:00 AM. Every day, Ukraine stops. Cities go quiet. Traffic stills. Voices fall silent. For one minute, nothing moves — only memory. Ukraine remembers those who stood in its defense and did not come home. Those who gave their lives for the right of Ukraine to be free, strong and unbroken. Those whose names live not only in history — but in the heart of every Ukrainian. Freedom is not abstract here. It has faces. It has names. It has families who still set a place at the table. Every morning at 9:00, Ukraine remembers why it stands — and for whom it keeps going.

Russia's supply routes into occupied Crimea are no longer safe. Another fuel tanker just proved it. Fuel. Ammunition. Equipment. Whatever Russia tries to move into Crimea is now being tracked and intercepted. The logistics corridor that was supposed to sustain the occupation is becoming a liability. Ukraine didn't just damage the routes. It made them unusable. Support link is in our Bio.

Ukraine built the drone that's systematically degrading Russia's war industry. It costs $55,000. They make 200 a day. The FP-1 by Fire Point now accounts for more than half of all successful long-range strikes on Russian territory - confirmed by Ukraine's General Staff. Range up to 1,600 km. GPS-independent. Tested under active electronic warfare conditions. Refineries in Nizhnekamsk. Chemical plants in Tolyatti. Defense factories in Cheboksary. One production line. One drone family. Two hundred units a day. Russia built its war on the assumption that Ukraine couldn't reach its rear. That assumption is gone.

The commander of humanity's first crewed Moon landing in 50 years has roots in Dnipro, Ukraine. NASA named Randy Bresnik as commander of the Artemis III mission. He has visited Ukraine multiple times and never hidden where part of him comes from. While Russia wages war on Ukrainian soil, a Ukrainian-American is going to the Moon. Ukraine is everywhere.

The Guardian asked Zelensky what King Charles is doing to help Ukraine. His answer: "I will not tell you how. It's up to His Majesty." He confirmed Charles raised Ukraine directly with Trump. He confirmed they have a very good relationship. And then he said something that wasn't protocol at all. This morning, when he called his wife, she said: "Best regards to His Majesty" - and then, of course, to Prime Minister Starmer. When asked if he'd invite King Charles to Kyiv one day, Zelensky didn't hesitate: "Between us - this very day, today, I want to invite him very much." Some relationships don't need explaining. Russia’s depth came under pressure. Ukraine’s future moved closer to Europe. ㅤ Ukraine struck refineries, drone infrastructure, routes to occupied Crimea, and training grounds tied to Moscow’s war machine. At the same time, the EU moved accession talks forward, linking Ukraine’s fight for survival with its place in Europe’s future. ㅤ One track cuts into Russia’s war system. The other pulls Ukraine closer to where it belongs. ㅤ buymeacoffee.com/meaninuak/t…

Putin just explained - again - that Russia didn't start the war. Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. Invaded in 2022. But didn't start it. His version: after the Maidan, Kyiv brought artillery and rocket systems to the southeast. Russia was merely protecting Crimea and trying to negotiate for eight years. There's a pattern to this kind of lie. First you tell it to the world. Then you tell it long enough that your own generals start briefing you with the same story. Then you make decisions based on it. That's how you end up surprised that Ukraine is still fighting.

Airbus just signed a strategic partnership with Ukrainian drone maker SkyFall - the company whose interceptors have taken out 10,000 Russian drones in combat. The MoU was signed at ILA Berlin Air Show on June 12, in the presence of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. The focus: integrating SkyFall's P1-SUN interceptors with Airbus Air C2 - the command-and-control system that manages European airspace - and building a next-generation multilayer air defense network for Ukraine and Europe. SkyFall also makes the Vampire heavy bomber drone - the one Russian forces nicknamed "Baba Yaga." Europe's largest aerospace company is building its air defense future around what Ukraine proved on the battlefield.

Oleksandr Usyk just walked into the Oval Office to meet Donald Trump. No word on what was discussed. But if we had to guess - Donald, we're going to need those Tomahawks. Usyk is in Washington for Trump's 80th birthday celebration and the UFC Freedom 250 tournament on the White House lawn this Sunday. Ukraine's heavyweight champion. In the house that matters most right now. Support link is in the first comment.

Ukraine is holding the front. And cutting the lines behind it. ㅤ Ukrainian pressure is reaching the fuel, bridges, drone systems, and training grounds that keep Russia’s war moving. At the same time, Europe is pushing Ukraine’s future closer, turning support into a longer path of security and political belonging. ㅤ The fight is not only about holding ground. It is about cutting what keeps the invasion alive. ㅤ patreon.com/MeanwhileinUkrai…

Ukraine's Kursk grouping just took out a Russian Tor air defense system on Russian territory. Price tag: $20 million. The strike was carried out by operators of the 8th Air Assault Corps. The Tor is a short-range surface-to-air missile system designed to intercept aircraft, helicopters, and cruise missiles - one of the systems Russia uses to protect its own forces and rear areas. Every air defense system taken out of action opens the airspace above it. That's not a side effect. That's the point.
