Roads are icy, stay home. Last night’s sleet and freezing temperatures are making the roads slick and dangerous. Staying off the roads helps emergency workers to safely do their jobs. If you must travel, remember to: - Drive below the speed limit and avoid sudden stops or sharp turns. - Increase the distance between you and other cars. - Monitor road conditions at DriveNC.gov.

We are aware of a nationwide cell phone outage affecting multiple carriers that may be impacting the ability to call 911. If you need to call 911, please keep trying, use a landline, or ask a neighbor to call. You can also visit a fire station or police station for help. Please do not call 911 to test your phone or report the outage. We’ll keep you informed as we know more.
