For many, many moons, I've been learning how to write a novel. It's the most difficult and most time consuming thing I've ever tried.
I'll be talking about this more in the distant future, but for now the struggle continues.

Art is strange.
There’s always the clash of what we as creatives think is good vs. what others think. And then we intentionally adapt our style to others’ tastes and vise versa until both sides perceive they have achieved something of “greater value” due to its broad appeal.

I often fail at my own advice, but it is something to strive for. When I lack motivation or think I'm not "ready", 9/10 the best way I move past these lulls is to simply do the thing.
