ALT Melee players believe the game is perfect and has no design problems, so you will get a lot of people in this thread trying to justify this completely ridiculous mechanic. what little L cancelling adds to the game's tactical depth is completely overshadowed by its bloated effect on the learning curve and physical stress on players' hands. there's something with the romanticization of a game that has zero patches (even though it doesn't and we are continuously patching it as a community) that leads people to be so dogmatic about game design, which is understandable because most gamers don't know a thing about game design. thus the constant justifications that every mechanic in melee should stay exactly the way it is.
