WATCH: A Zimbabwean truck driver arrested in Zambia for allegedly trying to smuggle illegal immigrants from Ethiopia into South Africa.

Nine Bangladeshi nationals were intercepted at O.R. Tambo International Airport on Thursday after attempting to enter South Africa using fraudulent South African visas and fake Indian passports. According to the Border Management Authority, immigration officials detected irregularities during processing and discovered the visas were allegedly issued fraudulently through the South African High Commission in New Delhi. Three women travelled on Bangladeshi passports, while six men initially presented fake Indian passports before later producing Bangladeshi passports. All nine were denied entry and arrangements were made for their deportation back to Bangladesh. BMA Commissioner Michael Masiapato praised officials for the interception, saying it highlights both the growing sophistication of international document fraud syndicates and the importance of strong border security. Investigations are continuing into the origin of the fraudulent documents and possible links to transnational criminal networks. @TheBMA_SA

10 illegally installed transformers linked to large-scale electricity theft were dismantled and destroyed during a joint City Power, Eskom, SAPS and JMPD operation in Kya Sands, Randburg. One suspect was arrested and detained at Douglasdale Police Station after being found in possession of a transformer used for illegal connections. Authorities also seized cables and aluminium conductors used to unlawfully connect to the power grid. BREAKING NEWS: ARRESTED: Mozambican illegal foreigner who raped and brutally murdered Amahle, a 6 year old South African girl in Motha Street, Orlando East, has been found and arrested.

An innocent South African nurse from Mpumalanga was fatally stabbed by her former Nigerian boyfriend, who is now the subject of a police manhunt. The incident occurred on Friday, 1 May 2026, and has prompted charges of both murder and robbery against the suspect. According to authorities, the suspect attacked his girlfriend, Sonto Mbili, inside her apartment and stabbed her repeatedly with a knife until she succumbed to her injuries. Sonto's mother discovered the body and reported finding her daughter lying in a pool of blood. After the alleged killing, the suspect is said to have taken several of Mbili's personal belongings, including her South African identity document, bank cards, driver's license, two mobile phones, and her red Hyundai Tucson with registration KS04PV GP. Police believe he has since been using the stolen bank cards to withdraw cash from Mbili's account at multiple locations. The suspect was last sighted in Komatipoort, a border town in Mpumalanga province near the Mozambique boundary. Police have urged members of the public not to approach him and to report any information that could assist with his arrest.
