When I first got it, there was almost no info on it online, few people were playing it. I dropped the game twice, I thought it was obtuse and weird. After a month, I sat down for a third time, something clicked and I knew I played something very special by the time I finished it.

As for what struck me most, areas like Valley of Defilement and Tower of Latria, unmatched atmosphere and texture to them. Yurt being an extremely dangerous npc that can almost softlock your game, game mechanics being tied to the lore (souls as currency), great ost, and much more
